Mid Rise Development
Located one of the main corridors of the City of Doral, the project’s overall concept is grounded on the principle to elevate the urban experience through architectural movement and lush landscaped plazas.
The design is expressed through folding planes that wrap around the residential courtyard building, to generate a sequence of public and private spaces. The overall design strategy is to bring a new scale and establish a sense of place within neighborhood.
The arrival entrance of the building is expressed as a glass box that has been carefully integrated to a small plaza that connects -next door- to the future retail development. From the lobby area, the residents of the 350-unit building, are invited to transition towards the heart of the project and where the best views are, the courtyard.
The vision for this mid-rise residential project, is nurtured by a rich landscape design that spills over to the edges of the site where residents, as well as visitors, are invited to further explore the area.
I was involved in this project as the lead designer, establishing the initial concept and program. Thanks to the support of an amazing team, I was able to take this project from massing to unit layout, and further development of the key architectural details, that make the design of this building unique.
